Enjoy an evening of traditional myths, legends and fun as you journey through Ireland’s magical past, a history that is inextricably linked with its mythology. On this original bus tour you and a friend will hear stories of a time gone by when pookas, fairies and giants roamed the land…
Upon arrival at your experience you will be met by your guide and welcomed aboard a ‘magical’ custom equipped bus, ready for your ultimate Dublin folklore experience.
You’ll travel to the magical peninsula of Beann Eadair. Many centuries ago the High King of Ireland, Conn of the Hundred Battles, used to spend many an evening strolling along the beaches here. Not your average tourist destination! There have been many sightings over the years of Irish mermen in the area. Unfortunately, unlike their female counterparts, these mermen known as ‘Merrows’ are not renowned for their beauty! Hear how, not so long ago, a local fisherman by the name of ‘Jack O’Mahoney’ struck up a friendship with one!
Amongst others, you will hear the story of Clontarf, across on the north of the Liffey. Arguably the site of the most important battle in Irish history, it signaled the end of Viking rule in Ireland and was also the battle in which one of Ireland’s most famous kings, Brian Boru, was killed.
Throughout the course of the evening you will enjoy numerous poems, songs and reenactments – an entertaining and original tour that you will never forget!
